- Tiny little spruce gum box
in old, original, blue paint with three sliding lids covering
compartments made to house small pieces of spruce gum. We purchased
this item from a veteran dealer and collector of frontier items
in Michigan, who had it in his personal collection for many years,
although it may have been made in the Adirondack region of N.Y.
State. It is possible that it was a model for a larger box, but
we believe it more likely was used for a small personal
supply of spruce gum given the wear it shows. In any event it
is a fabulous little piece and a true rarity. 3 1/8" L x
¾" W x 1"H. More photos available upon request.
