  
- Carved bust of a man, with
detailed hair and eyes. Very similar to carvings by Shield's
Landon Jones, a self-taught "outsider" carver, whose
work has brought over $20,000. The Antiques and Arts Weekly recently
ran a story on a carving of a woman's head done by Jones which
sold for $23,125. We cannot make that attribution absolutely
for this piece, but the treatment of the hair, eyebrows and nose
are very similar in the two carvings, right down to an unusual
small ridge along the bridge of the noses. Unsigned. Circa early
