- Small metal weathervane of
a bird, approximately 12" long. The pole has been replaced
and soldered to the rod that forms the shaft of the arrow. We
placed the pole in a block of wood to display the piece, but
it can easily be removed if the purchaser wishes to use it as
a weathervane. The metal figure may well be copper, but it has
a coat of old black paint. The silver area from the soldering
work can easily be touched up with flat black paint if desired.
The bird has traces of old orange-red paint in the breast area,
suggesting that it may have
been a Robin. Circa late 19th - early 20th century. (CS-11)
