  
- Owls are very collectible
and this little red one is unique. 7-1/2" tall x 4"
W and 2" deep. There is a small flake of paint missing
from the attachment point of the dowel in the back that could
easily be filled and touched up if desired, but it doesn't affect
stability and isn't visible from the front, so we will leave
that decision to the buyer. Circa early-mid 20th century. There
is, in fact, a red owl that is native to Madagascar, but we doubt
that was the model for this piece, which differs significantly
in coloration. Rather, we think this is purely a whimsical carving.
