- Pair of flying drake mallards
preparing to land, secured on a mahogany plaque for display.
The feet on the largest one were missing when we found it and
we attached 2 new ones in the "landing" position. Measurements
are a little deceptive because of the posture of the largest
one. That one measures apprx. 9 ½" from bill tip
to the end of its outstretched wing and 7" from the bill
tip to the tip of the tail. The smaller one measures about 6
½" from tip of bill to end of tail and 7 ½"
across wing tip to wing tip. Well carved and painted by someone
who was probably a duck hunter, identity unknown. Paint is all
original save for the feet of the larger duck. Plaque measures
10"H x 21"L. Circa mid-late 20th century. (CN-21)
