- Lehnware lidded saffron cup
by Joseph Lehn of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, circa 1880's.
Lehn was a master craftsman, a cooper, who turned, carved and
painted little cups like this one, as well as other items, for
many years up until his death in 1892 at the age of 94. Saffron
was a spice used for seasoning. This cup has some significant
wear from use, but is all original with some minor touch ups.
When in good original condition, cups like this one are selling
for substantial sums. Priced accordingly. Apprx. 4.6" tall.
