  
- Great Horned Owl Carving
on stand. Has large inset glass eyes. Approximately 20"
H on stand and 15" without. Signed "CEF 83".
May have been carved as a decorative or as a stickup decoy to
attract crows being hunted. Owls and crows are mortal enemies
and crows will often gather to attack an owl. This carving shows
little evidence of being used as a decoy, so we presume it was
a decorative piece. Displays nicely. (CR-18)
