- Fine carving of a beaver
sitting on a log, made from a single block of wood. When we found
it, there was a hole through its mouth from side to side to hold
something so we put a twig through it to simulate a section of
branch that it cut to place in a dam or bring back to the lodge
for food. Carving is approx. 7" long and made to stand as
shown. It is signed on the bottom with a stamp, although we can't
make out the name of the carver. It does appear to read "carved....
in On. Canada". Circa mid-20th century. (CL-38)
